Volunteerism & Advocacy
Have you ever heard of Bike New London?  Now you have.
A little about Bike New London
Bike New London formed in 2009 from a group of volunteers dedicated to making bicycling in our small city safer and more accessible to people of all walks of life. Early efforts included installing downtown bicycle racks, bicycle “valet” services at events, annual “Bike Fest” events on the waterfront, and advocating for the Montauk Avenue bike lane project.
In 2014, through a partnership with NL Main Street, we were able to open a storefront community bicycle shop on State St. Our all-volunteer organization serves residents of all ages and any income level, repairing and refurbishing donated bicycles.
At the end of 2018, we found a new location to continue offering these same services and more to the New London community. Our new Community Bike Shop is located at 399 Williams Street, New London, CT 06320.
It is the mission of Bike NL to increase bicycle use in the city of New London and make New London a more bicycle-friendly community.

Bike New London is open at 399 Williams St, on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons from 1pm on.

Bike New London’s new location in Hodges Square! See our new location, right at the center of cycling activity in New London. We are located within sight of the Gold Star Bridge bicycle lane. Bike NL will be open all day Sunday with refurbished bicycles for adults and kids, to meet any budget. We can also do bicycle repairs and tuneups, or instruct you with hands-on maintenance of your own bike.
