WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? 
WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF PEQUOT CYCLISTS?

Join a short-term Pequot Cyclists strategic planning group to set a plan keep our cycling club current, relevant, and successful.

Who:  8 to 10 enthusiastic and open-minded volunteers needed. 
When:   Plan on about 4 meetings, during the week if possible.  Whatever day works best for volunteers.
Where:  To be determined

Why are we doing this?  Based on feedback, recent club challenges, declining membership, & the age of the club, it is time to refocus on what we do, how we do it, and are we meeting our club members needs.  So, please consider helping our club.

Sunday Jan 14, 2018 9:30AM  Hike Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve, Niantic CT

Meet at Main Entrance, Veterans Memorial Park, 10 Memorial Park Drive, Niantic
Meet 9:15 for sign-in and 9:30 AM prompt start.
Hike duration is approximately 2 hours; 3-4 miles, “easy” with short areas of “moderate” rocky terrain., Ice stabilizers (microspikes) may be neededHikers to bring drinking water/hot beverage as desired
Heavy snow or rain cancels.
After the hike, optional 1 mile boardwalk in Niantic ending with ice cream or treats

Saturday Jan 20, 2018  Hike Merritt Family Farm Property (a Groton Open Space Association)
Meet at Haley Farm State Park, 90 Haley Farm Lane, Groton, CT, Meet 9:45 for sign-in and 10:00 AM prompt start.       Hike duration is approximately 2.25 hours; 4-5 miles, Terrain is “easy” with a moderate pace, Ice stabilizers (microspikes) are a must.
Hikers to bring drinking water/hot beverage as desired
Heavy snow or rain cancels.
Lunch location: Grass and Bone, 24 E Main Street, Mystic, NCT

Sunday Jan 28, 2018 9:30AM  Hike Salmon River Forest, East Hampton, CT

Meet at covered bridge parking lot on Comstock Bridge Road and Rte 16, East Hampton, Meet 9:15 for sign-in and 9:30 AM prompt start.
Hike duration is approximately 3 hours; 6-7 miles; Terrain is”easy” with short areas of “moderate” rocky terrain and beautiful view of the Salmon River, and old mill site and Day Pond.
Ice stabilizers (microspikes) may be needed
Hikers to bring drinking water/hot beverage as desired
Heavy snow or rain cancels.

Saturday Feb 3, 2018  Hike Rocky Neck State Park, Niantic, CT

Meet at Main Parking lot near the railroad tracks (244 W. Main Street, Niantic, CT)
Meet 9:45 for sign-in and 10:00 AM prompt start.
Hike duration is approximately 2 hours; ~3 miles; Terrain is “easy” with a moderate pace.
Bring Ice stabilizers (microspikes) in case of icy terrain.
Hikers to bring drinking water/hot beverage as desired; Heavy snow or rain cancels

Saturday April 7, 2018 9:30AM  Hike Chatfield Trail South

(show & go rides extended through March)
All Show and Go Rides:   there will be no planned cue sheet rides during December, January and February, and March, only designated meeting places for Sunday Rides.  Those riders who show up will decide the direction and distance to be pedaled. The lead riders will wait at chosen intervals for the slower riders to catch up and keep the group together. Inclement weather or poor road conditions cancel these rides.
