Saturday Feb 3, 2018  Hike Rocky Neck State Park, Niantic, CT

Meet at Main Parking lot near the railroad tracks (244 W. Main Street, Niantic, CT)
Meet 9:45 for sign-in and 10:00 AM prompt start.
Hike duration is approximately 2 hours; ~3 miles; Terrain is “easy” with a moderate pace.
Bring Ice stabilizers (microspikes) in case of icy terrain.
Hikers to bring drinking water/hot beverage as desired; Heavy snow or rain cancels

Saturday Feb 20, 2018 Hike Goodwin State Forest, Hampton, CT

Meet at 9:45 AM at Goodwin State Forest Headquarters parking lot, on right, 23 Potter Rd, off Rt. 6, Hampton, CT for 10:00 AM start.
Brisk 2 – 3 hour hike on well-marked Goodwin SF and CT Frst. & Prk. Assoc. Blue trails and woods roads on flat moderately hilly terrain. A “Hot Chocolate Stop” at half way point will bolster energy levels for the trip around Pine Acres Lake, back to the cars, after which we may retire to the Vanilla Bean in nearby Pomfret for lunch.
Colder conditions in Windham Co. necessitates warm, layered outdoor clothing covering extremities. Bring warm, wind-proof layers, mufflers, hats, gloves and consider gaiters if snow is present at home. Wear orange marker clothing, for hunters may be working adjacent open land.
Consult Hartford weather for local forecast and adapt for micro spikes, and/or snowshoes/hiking poles, as necessary. Bring water, your favorite hot beverage mix: tea, chocolate, instant coffee (for heating on leader-supplied stove), cup and optional snacks. Well-mannered, people-oriented, closely-leashed dogs welcome and please consider discretion with cell phone use.
Please consult the Pequot Cyclists website no later than 12 noon, Friday, Feb 9, for any notices pertaining to this hike, and finding none, this event will go as planned.

Meet at covered bridge parking lot on Comstock Bridge Road and Rte 16, East
Meet 9:15 for sign-in and 9:30 AM prompt start.
Hike duration is approximately 3 hours; 6-7 miles;Terrain is “easy” with short areas of “moderate” rocky terrain.
Hikers to bring drinking water.
Heavy snow or rain cancels

All Show and Go Rides:   there will be no planned cue sheet rides during December, January and February, and March, only designated meeting places for Sunday Rides.  Those riders who show up will decide the direction and distance to be pedaled. The lead riders will wait at chosen intervals for the slower riders to catch up and keep the group together. Inclement weather or poor road conditions cancel these rides.

The 2018 Bike Walk CT Summit -- Advocacy Through Action -- is scheduled for Friday, April 6 in Hartford. Registration is now open at bikewalkct.org.
 
the North American Handmade Bicycle Show (NAHBS) will be in Hartford -- February 16-18 at the Connecticut Convention Center. Bike Walk CT will have a booth.
