Welcome to the newest New Pequot Cyclists
We look forward to seeing you on the road, the trails, and special events“When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought on anything but the ride you are taking.”
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859 – 1930), author of Sherlock Holmes
Annual Deb Kalwara Hike
 26 October 2019
10AM
Each year the Pequot Cyclists conduct a hike to honor and remember our friend, Deb Kalwara. This year, as in the past, the hike will be held at Mashamoquet Brook State Park (Wolf Den State Park) in Pomfret, CT.  The hike will be on Saturday, October 26th 2019 at 10 am. We will meet at the parking lot at the Park Office. This is about a 4.5 mile moderate hike. Hiking footwear recommended. After the hike we will have lunch at the Vanilla Bean Restaurant if you are interested.Directions from South: Take Rte 395 north to Exit 41. Turn left onto Route 101 west. Follow Route 101 for approximately 5 miles to Wolf Den Drive, which is on the left just before the intersection with Rte 44. (If you get to Rte 44 you have gone too far.) If using GPS put Wolf Den Drive, Pomfret, CT as the destination. Follow Wolf Den Drive until you see the parking area on the left. This is the same starting place as in previous years. It has been 10 years since Deb’s passing. She was a great friend to many of us. Her family appreciates that we hold this hike in her honor every year. It is always heartwarming to see her children and especially to see her grandchildren as they grow up. Please join us if you can.Contact Jim or Maureen at 860-705-7776 if you have any questions. Membership Application AND Renewal Form  @ IM Athlete

Volunteerism & Advocacy

https://www.facebook.com/BikeNewLondon/
Have you ever heard of Bike New London?  Now you have.
A little about Bike New London
Bike New London formed in 2009 from a group of volunteers dedicated to making bicycling in our small city safer and more accessible to people of all walks of life. Early efforts included installing downtown bicycle racks, bicycle “valet” services at events, annual “Bike Fest” events on the waterfront, and advocating for the Montauk Avenue bike lane project.
In 2014, through a partnership with NL Main Street, we were able to open a storefront community bicycle shop on State St. Our all-volunteer organization serves residents of all ages and any income level, repairing and refurbishing donated bicycles.
At the end of 2018, we found a new location to continue offering these same services and more to the New London community. Our new Community Bike Shop is located at 399 Williams Street, New London, CT 06320.
It is the mission of Bike NL to increase bicycle use in the city of New London and make New London a more bicycle-friendly community.

Bike New London is open at 399 Williams St, on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons from 1pm on.

Bike New London’s new location in Hodges Square! See our new location, right at the center of cycling activity in New London. We are located within sight of the Gold Star Bridge bicycle lane. Bike NL will be open all day Sunday with refurbished bicycles for adults and kids, to meet any budget. We can also do bicycle repairs and tuneups, or instruct you with hands-on maintenance of your own bike.
